Eight years after the January 21st killings, when four unarmed protesters (Hekuran Deda, Faik Myrtaj, Ziver Veizi and Aleks Nikaj) were killed in front of the Prime Minister’s office, the justice today has released everyone who was imprisoned for the murders.

The killers of Hekuran Deda and Aleks Nika have not been found yet. The former National Guard Comamnder, Ndrea Prendi, was found guilty for manslaughter for the death of Faik Myrtaj. His subordinate, Agim Llupo, was found guilty for the killing of Ziver Veizi.

They both made it with four years in prison in total, although the Prosecution had requested 25 years in prison for murder in qualifying circumstances. The Prosecution failed to convince the Court of Appeal, which ruled that the deaths were the result of manslaughter.
