After several and difficult negotiations that have went on for many
years, the Albanian government approved the debt repay to the Serbian
government, with a value of 8 million Euros.

According to “Shqip”, these loans were taken by the Albanian communist regime of the time, leaded by Enver Hoxha.

The payments will be made on a fix day, twice a year, on March 31st and September 30th. The agreement also provides penalties if Albania will be late on payments, by establishing interest for each day after the due date.

The government ratified yesterday the agreement between the Council of Ministers of the Albanian Republic and the government of the Serbian Republic.

The government is currently negotiating with Bosnia and Herzegovina for old unpaid obligations.
