Cakaj: New negotiation methodology expected to make way for negotiations

The acting Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Gent Cakaj, received in Tirana the President of the European Council, Charles Michel.

“The new progress report from the Commission and the adoption of a new methodology for the negotiations will pave the way for opening the accession negotiations this year”, Cakaj said on Facebook.

The Minister assured Mr.Michel that they are working hard to turn the positive technical evaluation of the Commission into political will, in order to start the EU accession.

Cakaj expressed his gratitude for the support given to the Commission’s fundraising initiative, which will be held in Brussels to help repair the damage caused by the November 26th earthquake in Albania.
