The Democratic Party leader, Lulzim Basha, declared that the voting of Arta Marku as Provisory Prosecutor General was a constitutional coup by the majority.

“The parliament violated the Constitution today to defend Saimir Tahiri, Vangjush Dako and Qazim Sejdini”, Basha said.

The DP leader said that his party will continue with protests.

“We showed to the entire country today that we will never become façade of the criminal autocracy. The opposition will continue this path, leading citizens to protests”, Basha said.

Sali Berisha on the other side said that the opposition MPs should all resign and hand over their mandates.

“Rama organized an ambush against me. I wanted to speak during the procedure, and I waited my turn as the Speaker had asked me to. There is no other way rather than a solemn burning of our mandates. It has never happened for an MP to be ambushed in Parliament”, Berisha declared.
