Albanian Contingent XIV departs to the Aegean Sea

The contribution of the Albanian Armed Forces to the NATO “Sea Guardian” mission will now continue with Contingent XIV, which departed today from the Durres Port.
Present at the ceremony were the Deputy Minister of Defense, Petro Koci; the Deputy Commander of the Marine Forces, Artur Mecollari; the Durres Prefect, Roland Nasto’ the effectiveness of the fleet and relatives of the contingent members.
Deputy Minister Koci appreciated the commitment of the Albanian seamen in the Aegean Sea, as a contribution to Europe’s security, and wished the best of luck to the next contingent.
“Illegal migration doesn’t bring only social destabilization, but also a terrorism-related risk, as it often is used for cover by elements of violent extremism”.
