The US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State, Matthew Palmer, is expected to visit Tirana as part of a Balkan tour.
It seems that after the EU, it will be up to the USA to help intermediate between the Albanian parties, in a time when the opposition has burned its parliamentary mandates and is currently engaged in protests.
The US official is expected to meet with PM Rama this Monday; President Meta on Tuesday; and the opposition leaders on the same day.
“I believe that political solutions can only come through responsible and real dialogue, in order to establish a constitutional, institutional and democratic normality in the country”, Meta declared.
