The Macedonian Foreign Minister, Nikolla Poposki appealed the Macedonian
minority in Albania to participate at the population registration.
He visited Tirana and during a meeting with his homologue, Edmond Haxhinasto, they spoke about a series of common issues for both countries.
“A cooperation bridge between the two countries is the Macedonian community in Albania and the Albanian one in Macedonia. We are convinced that Albania will make all right efforts for the population registration. I invite all members of the Macedonian community in Albania to be part of the population registration and the European perspectives, as part of this process”, declared the Macedonian Foreign Minister”, Nikolla Poposki.
The Albanian Foreign Minister, Edmond Haxhinasto, declared that those who oppose the Census have strong political reasons.
“I think that the Census, based on the European legislation, offers all necessary guarantees for having a result that is consistent with the reality of the minorities in Albania. Any other pretense has a political purpose, totally unnecessary”, Haxhinasto declared.
