Coronavirus; 400 schools in Albania start combined teaching

Following the proposal of the technical committee for the coronavirus pandemic, on December 1, 400 schools are conducting combined teaching, both from home and in the classroom.

Every Friday, the Ministry of Education announces the manner of teaching for the coming week, depending on the number of students affected and the pandemic situation in schools.

The decision is forwarded to the directorates and then the parents werenotified.

So far 1360 educational institutions attend classes according to the initial scenario in the physical premises of the school, respecting the anti-covid measures.

Due to the earthquake that damaged 155 schools, according to the Ministry of Education, 60 thousand students study in 4 shifts, some until 19:45 in the evening, both at school and online, but this number will decrease as 28 schools are expected to be completed by end of December.

The Ministry of Education further told Top Channel that about 10 thousand students do not have access to online learning, are being taught in the classroom.

On the other hand, the Ministry says that 16 thousand tablets or smartphones with free internet have been distributed for one year, for online learning of children.
