Albania’s EU accession negotiations, Screening process starts with the judiciary

Albania and Macedonia have started preparations for adopting the EU legislation. The “Screening” will start with the judiciary, Chapter 23 “Justice and basic human rights”.

The EU General Director for Good Neighboring and Enlargement Negotiations, Christian Danielsson, announced on Twitter the meeting with the respective delegations of both countries.

“Honoured to open first meeting with Albania and Macedonia, explaining the EU acquis. With the launch of the technical screening process, we are entering a dynamic phase that aims to further boost progress on reforms that benefit all citizens. Today marks another milestone on the road to the EU” Danielsson wrote.

The Albanian delegation is led by the Minister of Justice, Etilda Gjonaj, and Deputy Foreign Minister Genti Cakaj.
