Voluntary Private Pension is an alternative for having additional revenue besides the state-owned Insurance.
The Financial Observation authority, which controls the market, says that the number of private pensions increased with 20% in the last year, while assets with 33%.
Niko Kotonika, Director of Market Supervision and Capitals at the AMF say that more than 95% of the private pension funds are invested as a government debt.
There are three private pension funds operating in this market, but participants must receive propoer information about the possible risks before applying.
However, despite the growth, this market remains fairly modest in Albania, and not enough developed.
