The Democratic Party leader, Lulzim Basha, said that the resignation of Fatmir Xhafaj was a victory for the opposition.
“Xhafaj’s resignation as the only Interior Minister in Europe with his brother convicted as a drug trafficker is an important step in our battle for purging the political class from crime”, Basha wrote on Facebook, adding that crime was controlling the police through Xhafaj.
For Basha, the resignation of Xhafaj is just the beginning for cutting Edi Rama’s ties with crime.
