The New Democratic Spirit introduced their candidates in the Elbasan
district. The leader of this political force, Bamir Topi, was present in
the meeting held at the Skampa Theater.
Topi declared that the votes of the June 23rd elections should end a Parliament controlled by the Prime Minister and asked support for the New Democratic Spirit, which, according to him, is the true home of democrats and the Albanian right. He accused them of obliging the state administration to fill squares in Berisha’s meetings.
“The Parliament is being used by the Prime Minister and a majority that has lost its integrity and is watching its last days on power. The New Democratic Spirit is the real home of the Albanian democrats, and that’s why I appeal all common and honest democrats of Elbasan to vote the New Democratic Spirit because this is the real right formation”, Topi declared.
The New Democratic Spirit leader added that this political force bases its program in supporting the former persecuted people and former property owners, two categories that need to find a solution to their problems after 23 years of delays.
Topi accused the government of pressuring media outlets through fines, in order to take them under their control and to intimidate the away from telling the truth. He added that this is done to inseminate fear everywhere and to defeat the courageous people.

Albania is a free and democratic country that has courageous people who want another politics, a moderated and European one. Naturally, a moderated politics doesn’t mean that we will not make a strong state”, Topi declared.
The New Democratic Spirit leader appealed the voters to participate massively in the June 23rd elections in order to avoid vote manipulation.
“By not voting you allow people to steal your vote. A vote for the New Democratic Spirit is a vote for democracy”, he added.
Topi also mentioned a proposition by the New Democratic Spirit, which wants to reduce the number of Parliament Members from 140 to 100.
