Tirana: From mud to dust

The Tirana Municipality is rebuilding the roads and allies by opening
new construction sites. But in other roads where works have been
interrupted have turned into a serious problem for the residents, who
after facing the mud of winter now have to stay in the summer dust.

The companies contracted by the Municipality have won tenders for several roads, and they transfer their vehicles and equipments from one site to another.

No machinery or worker has been seen recently at the Mahmut Fortuzi road, while the constructions for the canalization system have ended and the road is about to get paved. Residents complain that the construction firm has interrupted the works and has transferred equipments in other sites.

The Mayor of Tirana, Lulzim Basha, inaugurated the works at the Don Bosko road, saying that the firms will complete everything within the given deadline.

“Based on the information that I have, works have not been interrupted anywhere, except for those where projects have been updated. There are cases when the aqueduct system needs to be repaired before the contractor continues his work. If there are other cases we will certainly deal with them. The Municipality is dedicated to complete this project within the deadline with every mean possible”, Basha declared.
