Theth, one of the Albanian tourist pearls, has turned into one of the preferred mountainous tourism in our country.
The construction works in the Boge-Qafe Thora road segment will make it easier for the tourists to reach this area, but also for the 5000 local residents. This site which is mostly preferred by foreign tourists has always been a difficult place to reach.
This unpaved segment gets blocked for almost five months of the year, by isolating the local residents in their homes. The Albanian Development Fund has started the reconstruction of the Boge-Qafe Thore in a length of 11.2 kilometers, including the enlargement of the curves. According to the ADF director, Benet Beci, the road will also have orienting street signs for tourists who want to visit the Theth National Park. This construction will cut the road to 10 minutes, which so far has taken almost one hour to cross. Works have started in April and are expected to end in November 2014. The goal of ADF, according to Beci, is to encourage tourism development in coastal and mountainous areas.
