The Park of Tirana River

According to the project, the municipal works will attract investments, will increase property value and will transform this area into a corridor of environment and technology.

“Tirana will grow with 400 thousand new citizens. We are ready to answer to this growth with major projects of the European Tirana”, Dritan Agolli declared.

Another important project is the Tirana River Park, the biggest in the northern area of the city, which will have 134 hectares of green space, will be without cars and will have a Luna Park.

This area will have interventions in the infrastructure, by widening the roads and their illumination. Around 700 million Euros are going to be invested in 8 schools, three communitarian centers and two social centers.

The economic development of northern Tirana and Paskuqan is very important, since it has been seen as a continuing corridor between Tirana and Durrës. In this corridor, the trade services will be reinforced and there will be a local exhibition center, predicted to open 50 thousand jobs.

“But this new policy cannot be done on this territory as long as it will be destroyed for personal profits, due to a short-vision way of treating the natural richness and abusing with it”, declared the Mayor of Tirana, Edi Rama.

Rama asked the citizens to vote on May 8th the big project for Tirana that will also develop the surrounding communes.

“So that no one will hesitate to see the May 8th elections as political, not only for what happened two years ago, when the votes were stolen, but also for having a good local governing”, Rama said.
