The Albanian opposition leader, Edi Rama, introduced the SP government
plan for rural planning in the city of Lushnje. Rama promised to resolve
the situation of property title certificates within the first mandate.

“We are determined to close this chapter within the first mandate, since it cannot continue any longer than one quarter of a century. We are determined to go ahead with a clear and transparent methodology to give farmers the property certificates and establish strong laws for un-sowed farming lands”, Rama declared.

The opposition leader mentioned the current state of the Albanian farms, and talked about the fact that farmers are being punished due tot he lack of irrigation systems. Rama said that this situation cannot be tolerated, and that it is destroying the land in a country that is ranked second in Europe for the water resources.

Rama promised to change this situation with 160 million USD, which will be used only to establish the irrigation systems in the country.

“Within the first mandate we will invest all our financial and intellectual forces to guarantee irrigation. This is a special part of our detailed program. 160 million USD will be used for the irrigation sector”, the SP leader declared.

Rama accused the Prime Minister of lying to the farmers not only for taxes, but also for his promises to support their activity.

“After June 23rd, the farmers will find in the government the partner that they have been needing during all this time. We will support them”, Rama declared.
