The political situation in our country, the overcoming of the actual
political stalemate and the necessity of realizing the vital
reforms required for Albania’s EU integration, were the main topic of the meeting between the Albanian President Bamir Topi and the Head of the EU
delegation in Tirana, Ettore Sequi.
“In this situation of a prolonged political stalemate, it is indispensable to reduce political tensions and start institutional and political dialogues, also by finding the sincere will to realize the very important reforms, such as the electoral and judicial ones, which would enable the continuity of Albania’s EU integration, and would also serve to show in front of the international community that we have a mature political class in Albania,” declared President Topi.
Sequi emphasized that Albania has not fulfilled the 12 priorities requested by the European Union, therefore it is very important for the ruling party and the opposition to have a constructive cooperation.
“Otherwise, Albania’s EU perspective risks to remain far from the major interests of the Albanian people”, Sequi declared.
