The opposition leader, Edi Rama, met with the Orikum residents in Vlore, an area with probably the worst property conflicts.
Admitting that the property issue is complex, Rama introduced the vision of the Socialist government and the solution they plan after the June 23rd elections.
“We will establish a powerful commission with parliamentary mandate to make full transparency. For returning the property we will be based on the original archive, the original property title. We will return to the Albanian state the properties that were taken from them, and will give the property title to those who work with their farming land. They do not deserve to be treated as villeins in the middle of Europe. We will not leave people who have built a house there without a property title. That house will become a real estate, an active capital”, Rama declared.
Rama said that they will apply zero tolerance for irregular buildings, as he called the modification of the coastal line.
“For the entire Albanian coastline, not only the Ionian sea, we will build a National Coastline Agency and will establish a special law for the coastline, which is our common asset and we will treat it as such. We will not allow irregular constructions that will return the coastline into a suburban area”, Rama declared.
The Socialist Party leader paid a special attention to tourism, by forgetting to use irony with the numbers mentioned by the Prime Minister.
“We will have regular tourism, not that of Berisha, who says that our tourism figures ave increased while revenues have decreased with hundreds of millions of EUR. I went to Turkey and I returned, together with Endri Fuga, and we are two more tourists. This history must end once and for all”, Rama declared.
Rama visited the Children’s Home in the Vlore city, where he wished a happy Children’s Day to everyone. Accompanied by the Mayor of Vlore, Rama gave computers to the orphanage children saying that the electronic tablet will be a novelty for schools.
