The Socialist leader, Edi Rama, declared that the action of the majority
against the Central Election Commission was the start of the end of
Prime Minister Berisha, who, according to the opposition leader,
disregarded the clear position expressed by the US and the EU.
“This was a copy of the presidential elections on March 1997, due to the isolated spaces. It is clear that the outgoing Prime Minister is taking very badly the ‘summer of great solitude’, now that he has no serious ally and all alone, same is 1997, surrounded by blind mercenaries, against a fury of the population that wants to end his regime through the free vote on June 23rd”, Rama declared.
According to Rama, panicked by the elections, the Prime Minister destroyed the CEC and chose to stain the free and honest elections.
“However, for us there is no hesitation. We have always known who we are afcing with. Now that everyone knows, we are stronger than ever. Berisha’s maneuvres cannot change the result”, Rama declared.
The opposition leader also warned the Prime Minister.
“One thing that the Albanians should hear today, is that even if the votes will be counted inside Berisha’s house, he will leave the government with a plebiscite vote. June 23rd is the day when Albania will decide that nothing can stop the decision of the real sovereign, the people”, Rama declared.
