While the plenary session had already started at the Albanian
Parliament, dozens of citizens were protesting against the new
recruitments from the government which are replacing the old employees
as they said, very quickly.

“The Lezha drainage director was changed and I was fired. I was a simple worker, being paid just 30.000 ALL (300 USD)”, one citizen says.

“I was at the Development Directory of Education Policies. Today I was let go without any motivation. I have worked 20 years as a teacher, I have finished a scientific master degree and now I have been fired without any reason”, another citizen declared.

However, with these protesters there were others that had been fired by the Democratic Party.

“I am protesting because I was fired eight years ago and I haven’t received any compensation. I want to return to work”, a citizen declared.

The opposition Parliament Members joined the protesters.

“We will turn dignity to that Parliament, because the real sovereign in this country is the people. Otherwise, that Parliament will make a monologue with themselves”, declared the Democratic Party Parliament Member, Majlinda Bregu.
