On the verge of the general elections, 120.000 disabled people ask the
political parties to turn their attention on this social class and
include their requests in their political programs.
Besides the approval of the draft law for a special representation of the disabled people, they demand a deeper reform in the payment system and pension for invalidity.

“The employment problem of the disabled people is a major problem that requires a special support, while the funding of the disabled people that doesn’t fulfil the vital functions should be very special and independent. Mixing these schemes has created a great cost, and everyone has been treated as disabled. People who can work can be supported by other programs and have more employment chances”, declared Sinan Tafaj, Head of the National Council for Disabled People.
For Tafaj, another problem that needs to be fixed is the passing of the disabled person status for groups that have been unrecognized so far.
“We need social justice in social policies for the disabled people, which means that the hearing impaired have not been recognized so far as disabled people. The mentally ill persons also have a series of serious problems, for which there is no regulation by the law”, Tafaj declared.
Another important point is the enlargement of this gamma and the improvement of the quality for this social category.
