A few hours before the electoral silence, the Mayor of Tirana and leader
of the Albanian opposition party, Edi Rama, appealed all citizens to
not hesitate and to go out and vote this Sunday, for enabling the continuity of
the projects that, according to him, will transform Tirana like the transformation that
happened with the park at the “Fusha e Aviacionit”, which has been
transformed into the second biggest park in Tirana, with an area of
50,000 square meters.
“May 8th is the day when all Tirana citizens should vote, in order to continue our way. The way of these transformations that have turned Tirana into the city of extraordinary transformations”, Rama said.
Referring to this park that fulfills the needs of all ages, Rama said that in the beginning it seemed impossible for most of the people that in Tirana could be realized what have been achieved today, but together with the citizens of all political beliefs, Rama says, the dreams of every citizen have been realized and will continue to be realized, dreams that seemed impossible some time ago.
“May 8th is the day when every one has in his hands the power guaranteed by democracy, the vote that enables every common citizen to punish the evil that is gathered in the ‘royal court’ of this regime, e regime from which we must detach by taking under protection all state employees whose job is to serve to the state and not to become tools of the regime that threatens them”, Rama declared.
The newly finished park has green areas for the citizens, water basins, fountains, playgrounds, skate tracks and spaces for different sport activities.
“Let us turn May 8th into the day of the people’s free will, for a better perspective, for everything that people have the right to ask today and that we are able to guarantee in our road towards the future”, Rama said.
