“Military home for personal interest”

This is what Socialist Party Parliament Member Taulant Balla declared, saying that after these procedures is hiding a suspicious business interest of the outgoing government.

“More than the need of the Democratic Party to have a new headquarters, the real interests here are for those who want to use these areas for construction. The value of the land is more than 20 million EUR”, Balla declared.

Balla added the argument that the Military Home land is bordered with the area where the new mosque of Tirana will be built, but the permit also says that there will be a commercial center built next to it, and this land will serve as its parking lot and for other constructions.

The Socialist Party Parliament Member adds to this argument another fact that according to him proves the real reason why it is being given to the Democratic Party. Balla says that this building has been given by the Ministry of Defense to the Interior Ministry, when the law specifies that the state properties are managed only by the Ministry of Economy.

These legal violations are being used so that this ministry can pass it under the ownership of the Tirana Municipality, according to Balla.

The Socialist Parliament Member says that the chain of violations which started with the presidential decree needs a deep investigation and promises that every legal violation will be undone.
