An order of the Health Minister, signed on August 12th, asks the
National Center of Medicament Control to not register any medicament
without the declaration of the applicant, which the applicant undertakes
with the stamp placed in the production country.
This is expected to cause chaos in the pharmaceutical market, same as it happened a few days ago, when trucks full of medicaments remained in the customs because they had not bought the fiscal stamp at the concessionary company and send it through post to the producing company.
“After failing with all the absurd efforts, recently there was an order from the Health Minister, which is discriminating. The confusion in the pharmaceutical market will continue, and the one that lose are the Albanian patients and consumers, who cannot have a regular supply. The only one who wins is the concessionary company decided by law since 2009”, says Arjan Jaupllari, from the Order of Pharmacists.
Health Minister Halim Kosova declared that the order signed by him will affect other new medicaments that will enter the Albanian market, since the ones that are on the market are already registered.
“The instruction says that every medicine should have the guarantee that will be followed by a stamp. These are efforts to increase the security in the pharmaceutical market, and everything will be supplied in the respective moment”, Kosova declared.
Kosova added that they are trying to resolve the situation at the Military Hospital, while he declared that there have been abuses for which he will address to the Prosecution, such as the maintenance of the hospital equipments.
“Until the last day that I will be a Minister of Albania, I will be by the side of the medical personnel wherever they are. There have been abuses with the maintenance of the medical instruments, a problem that is also related with the conscience of those who use it. There are great abuses with their maintenance”, Kosova declared.
The Minister participated in the inauguration of the visitors’ management system in the “Mbreteresha Xheraldina” maternity, a project of USAID.
