The Parliament of Kosovo ratified this Wednesday the financial agreement
with the EU known as IPA, Instrument for Pre-Accession, with a total
value of 70 million EUR.
These funds will be used for reapproaching the legislation of Kosovo with the EU as regards community rights, increased competitiveness for enterprises and support for a better connection of education with the job market and social policies.
The agreement was voted by all political parties. The voting part had turned into a debate topic in Parliament, after the Democratic League of Kosovo stated they would not vote it if Prime Minister Haradinaj would not discuss the government program in Parliament.
The approval of this agreement required two thirds of all MPs.
The financial agreement aims to reform some important sectors in Kosovo, which are a condition for the European integration. Kosovo still remains the last place in the region as regards integration processes.
