Ilir Xhakja’s trial

Fatmir Hoxha, the former driver of the Police Chief who was killed last
autumn in Sukth, refused to talk to the Court of Serious Crimes, saying
that he is also a defendant.

With this justification, Adem Tahiraj, the eye witness of this murder, rejected any chance to confront the killer at court.

The witness preferred to not speak with the justice, but Prosecutor Eugen Beci asked the court to read the declarations released by the witness during the preliminary investigation, and the court accepted it. The court heard once again how the Police Chief Tahiraj was killed.

Fatmir Hoxha’s declaration specified that the vehicle of Xhakja’s nephew was stopped without any previous plan, and right when the Chief of Police had decided to seize the vehicle, another person arrived with a luxury car and sportive clothes, who asked them who they were.

This person was Xhakja, and his nephew, Ledio Ksanaj, had told him that there was nothing to be concerned about, since it was just a verification of documents. At this point, the Chief of Police had asked Xhakja about his name, but he replied with an offense. And right after this, the Chief of Police was murdered.

Priest’s killer arrested

The Police declared that their Italian colleagues have arrested the much wanted Gazmor Haxhillari, who killed a priest last year. Haxhillar was arrested after a cooperation between the Albanian RENEA and the Interforcen Mission.

Haxhillari, with the help of two other people, have killed the priest of the Tizzana e Catena Church, Don Mario del Becaro.
