I killed a burglar who broke in last night and tried to rob me. I shot
him”, declared the 47-year-old Ylli Kapllanaj at the police today.
The police identified the robber as the 21-year-old I.Allushaj. The body was kept in the Fier morgue, while other neighbors testified for what happened.
If the investigators will collect enough evidence to support Kapllanaj’s confession, the Prosecution might not charge Allushaj with anything.
However, in a similar case that took place in Tirana some time ago, when the home owner struggled with the robber and left him dead, the Prosecution charged him of manslaughter due to excessive violence during self-defense.
