German MP on observation mission before accession negotiations

After meeting with several political parties in Albania, German MP Christian Petry (SPD) said that Albania is doing good progress with the judiciary reform and the rule of law.
He added that there is still more to do with the fight against organized crime and traffic, but the opposition’s decision to renounce the parliamentary mandates is not the right choice.
However, he says that he will express a positive opinion at the German Parliament for opening the accession negotiations with Albania.
Petry said for journalists that the political parties must find a way to bring back political normality, and that no one sees any valid reason for the opposition to boycott the elections.
