The Tirana Prosecution demanded 12 years in prison for Aferdita Hysi,
former Director of the Tax Directory in Tirana, and 11 years for Mirjan
Beneja, administrator of some fictive private companies that built a
fraudulent scheme with the VAT reimbursement, which mounted up to 6
million EUR.
Hysa and Beneja are accused of robbery through power abuse in cooperating, forging documents in cooperation and hiding evidence.
The Court of Tirana is also prosecuting the case of their six collaborators, five of whom are former officials of the Tirana Tax Office, and one a former administrator of fictive private companies.
