A remote controlled explosive has killed Baki Xhabafti toady in Vore, at
17:00. The explosive was placed close to the vehicle, and the charge
was so big that it has destroyed the vehicle to several pieces.
Police say that the authors placed the explosive to kill the car owner, not for any warning as in the other cases.
Xhabafti has died immediately, after the vehicle caught fire. Baki Xhabafti, 40, resident of Selita, Tirana, was owner of two vehicle part sale shops, one of which in Vore.
Police say that the victim might have been killed for his businesses, or probably for retaliation, since he is a relative of Shkelqim Xhabafti, a criminal who was executed in Tirana in 1997. Some other relatives in 1997 were killed for retaliation.
Police thinks that these might be related, but the investigations are undergoing by the Prosecution of Serious Crimes. However, sources say that there is no scientific evidence for encouraging the police to come with a conclusion. For this reason, police will be obliged to use other means for finding any conclusion.
