Dormitory, a corruptive affair

“The 2012 budget foresaw that the dormitory would turn into a public secondary school, but on November, the Municipal Council had only one decision, in which the allocated funds for this project were removed with the argument of not realizing the plan”, Berberi declared.

Through a document, on November 2012, the Tirana Municipality changed the destination of the dormitory from a public school to a private premise.

“In this discussion I raised the concern that the real reason behind the change of this plan for this object was the legalization of a corruptive affair started by the officials of the Mayor and their groups of  interest, which certainly did not represent the public’s interests”, Berberi declared.

Mrs.Berberi says that through this act, the Tirana Municipality and the Ministry of Economy not only have consumed a corruptive affair, but they have violated the public interest in plain sight.

“This is about an asset that belonged to the Tirana Municipality. Due to the increased population and other constructions that have been built at the Elbasan Street area, the studies had shown that there was the need of building a new school”, Berberi declared.

In many schools of Municipal Unit 2, the schools are overpopulated and the teaching continues with two shifts, although this is an area that is almost in the center of Tirana.
