The Czech Republic will continue to support Kosovo. This was the promise
of the Deputy Prime Minister and head of the Czech diplomacy, Karel
Schwarzenberg, during a meeting with Prime Minister Hashim Thaçi.
The Czech Diplomat notified Kosovo government that the Czech Republic will soon receive the lead of the Vishegrad Forum, and will use its influence for convincing EU countries to recognize Kosovo independence.
According to a communication for the media, released by the government’s press office, Prime Minister Thaçi thanked Mr. Schwarzenberg for the support that his country is giving to Kosovo and asked the Czech Republic to vote for its independence recognition.
As for EU integration, the Czech diplomat expressed his optimism that Kosovo institutions will fulfill their criteria for the visa liberalization process.
