While the Electoral College expects a series of complaints against
Central Election Commission decisions, the head of the Court of Appeal
declared that parties should bring evidence in their complaints, not
political accusations against the Central Election Commission members.
“All political factors in Albania should know that these issues can be resolved to court. In court you cannot discuss after the decision. If the parties have any other claims, they must make a preliminary work with their lawyers and transmit all facts and evidence to the court”, declared Alaudin Malaj, head of the Court of Appeal.
Malaj declared for the media that the court of appeal for serious crimes is out of function, since their cases are being tried by the common court of appeal judges.
The President of the Court agreed with the President’s idea that not all cases can be left to the Supreme Court, but not all members agree on this.
“Not all cases should go at the Supreme Court. Most of the cases have no reason to go there. This is a competence of the Parliament, which should take measures”, Malaj declared.
Party fined for discriminating mentioned
While women associations complain that political parties do not respect the quota for the women candidates, the Central Election Commission fined one of the parties for having more women then men.
The Popular Christian-Democratic Party was fined with 8 million ALL for discriminating men. But the head of this party says that this is a miscalculation from the Central Election Commission, and for this reason he filed a suit at the Electoral College./ Top Channel
