Berisha: Rama used CEC for bargains

The Albanian Prime Minister, Sali Berisha, accused the Socialist Party
leader, Edi Rama, of using the resignation of the Central Election
Commission members for political bargains and to justify the loss of the
the June 23rd elections.

The Prime Minister declared that the law has predicted such situations, and promised that the elections will have the best standards that the country has known.

“Rama used the Central Election Commission commissioners for bargains, and the ugliest of all was that of Jani Jani (United for Human Rights Party member at the Central Election Commission, who suspended his activity). He did this only to open a new place at the candidates’ list for the leader of Jani’s party. You cannot imagine a healthy mind in him. I appeal Rama to give up from these games and allow the Central Election Commission members to do their job. Rama will use their resignation to justify the lost elections. Will use this situation as a pretext to not recognize the elections, as one of the foreign observers declared”, Berisha declared.

The Prime Minister added that the elections will be held, despite the resignation of the Central Election Commission opposition members.

“Against Rama’s wishes, these elections will have the best standards. There is an excellent infrastructure and a law that has been written by the opposition, which gives full guarantee to the opposition. But I cannot give commissioners to Rama. He fears his own commissioners”, Berisha declared, adding that every effort to ruin the process is Don Quixotian.

The Prime Minister declared that Rama’s goal is to overthrow the government, which, according to Berisha, failed thanks to the agreement with the three Socialist Party Parliament Members.

“Every effort to ruin the elections is ridiculous. Rama wanted to overthrow the government and create an interim government, but the agreement with the three Socialist Party Parliament Members stopped Rama’s plan”, Berisha declared.

For the Prime Minister, for every case when the Central Election Commission mechanism will work, they woll follow the law very closely. According to Berisha, the Electoral Code is excellent and has foreseen all situations.

Berisha spoke for three laws, accusing the Socialist Party leader, Edi Rama, that he is blocking the status by not passing them.
