Minister of Health and Social Protection, Albana Koçiu, announced today the decision taken at the meeting of the Council of Ministers to increase financial support for around 5,600 people with disabilities.
“Yesterday was December 3, the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, which reminds us that we should all be equal and help even those who at a certain point in their lives have a difficulty or who do not have the same abilities to cope with their lives. Therefore, the government has decided today to increase the coverage for the hygiene and sanitation package for paraplegic and tetraplegic people,” said Koçiu.
According to this decision, support for the hygiene and sanitation package increases to 20,000 Lek (200 euros) per month. Also, the decision taken today contains for the first time a clause that brings about an automatic increase in support each year, based on the indexation of consumer prices announced by the national statistics institute INSTAT, the Albanian government says.
