For more than 6 months, the the residents of the Dunavat neighborhood in
Gjirokaster are crossing a very dangerous road, which is constantly
endangered by landslides. The municipality has only placed a gravel pile
to stop cars from crossing. No other measure has been taken to repair
the damage, which is only in a 6 meter segment.
The construction of a supporting wall and the paving of the damaged part of the road could have ended very quickly by the City Services Sector of the Municipality.
The head of this sector, Dasho Sejdo, says that the situation becomes more serious each day that goes by. The Municipality declared that they would take measures to avoid further damages.
Neighborhoods Dunavat 1, Dunavat 2 and Manalat can connect with the rest of the city only through public transportation.
The distance that every citizen has to cover on foot in the town center is 6.4 km.
