The residents of several villages in the Zerqan commune protested near the hydropower plant that is being built in their area.
They are against the decision for taking water from the Liqeni I Zi Lake, which they use for irrigation.
They decided to make the protest by night, in order to stop heavy trucks from coming with materials and tubes that will serve for deviating the water.
Residents protested two days ago by blocking the Bulqize-Peshkopi national road. They met with representatives of the construction company and state officials, who heard their concerns but did not come up with a solution.
