The General Secretary of the OSCE, Lamberto Zannier, expressed his high
concern about the political climate that is actually in Albania, on the
verge of the June 23rd elections.
In an interview for the Italian news agency ANSA, Zannier declared that “we are following with great concern the signs of an increasingly harsh political dialogue. Based on the recent political events in Albania, Zannier gives his prediction for the electoral campaign in which he states that OSCE is expecting a competitive electoral process in a climate that is not easy at all.
The OSCE secretary goes even further with his prediction, saying that the OSCE concern is related with conflicts that could undermine the interior stability of the country.
Zannier concludes his statement for ANSA by wishing that the harsh nationalist tones that are being used in Albania, will not turn into a destabilization element for the region, reminding that the OSCE has invested a lot in Albania and for this reason they wouldn’t want this investment to get devaluated.
