The Court of Serious Crimes confirmed the security measures given in
absence to five defendants charged of drug traffic: Emiliano Brahimi
(who changed his name to Jorgo Naci), his brother, Niko Brahimi, Saimir
Shosha, Edison Latifi and Agur Malaj.
The Head of the Anti-Narcotics Sector for the Fier District, Dritan Zagani, will stay in prison until trial for power abuse.
Zagani, a specialized agent for the anti-drug sector at the Fier Police, who had a very serious network of informers on terrain, has been the biggest surprise and disappointment during the entire investigation, after the court ordered a surveillance on some suspects who were trafficking cannabis to Italy.
Zagani appears on the phone conversation by informing an Italian citizen about the information he received from his informers in Fier and Vlore, who is also a law enforcer of the Italian authorities.
For the Albanian colleagues, the fact that Zagani didn’t report to his Albanian chiefs but to an officer of the Guardia di Finanzia, made him a person who had abused with his power.
Besides the recorded phone conversations, Zagani has against him a reward given from his contact in Italy, right after he gave an information that caused the seizing of a quantity of drugs in Italy.
The Prosecution of Serious Crimes says that the communication of the Albanian officer with the Italian colleague, without any authorization from the Albanian chiefs, makes a clear violation of the regulation.
