The Chairman of the Justice Reform Commission, Fatmir Xhafaj, declared
that the Commission will vote tomorrow the draft with 2/3rd voting
system.
“The draft that will be on the table of Parliament Members is a reflection on the draft that was presented on May 4th”, Xhafaj declared.
He said that every article has been reviewed in principle and after the political consensus that was reached based on the proposition made by the US and the EU.
When asked if this draft keeps the 2/3rd or the 3/5th voting system agreement, the chairman of the Commission said that the 2/3rd was preserved, and the Socialists have rejected the possibility to reflect on the reserved spots.
“The reserves spots are not a proposition coming from the international community, but a formula that is used when the qualified majority doesn’t work. The parties have never agreed for the reserved spots, and it has absolutely not proposed by Venice”, Xhafaj said.
