The Albanian Interior Minister, Fatmir Xhafaj, warned that new important police operations will be conducted against crime.
He insisted that the operation for seizing 613 kg of cocaine is a merit of the Albanian government.
“The operation is a merit of the Albanian Police. The Prosecution was also involved. There is work undergoing for identifying the authors of this crime. Our partners are trusting us once again, involving us in important operations with FBI, DEA, GDF, Europol and other law-enforcement agencies in the EU. The results of this cooperation will be made public soon”, Xhafaj declared.
He said that the vetting process will bring a new standard of professionalism among the police.
“The police not only is reaching important standards in the fight against crime, but it has increased its trust among citizens, while criminal activities are being discouraged”, the Minister declared.
