The Deputy Interior Minister, Iva Zajmi, declared that the regulation
for women’s admission in Police will be changed, facilitating their way
in.

She said that one of the problems for the applicants’ admission was the driver license requirement. This was changed. If the applicants will win, they will be able to take the driver license another time.

She appealed all women to apply until November 18th at the Police Departments of the respective areas.

Zajmi declared that Albania has a low women participation in the police ranks.

“There are some facilitating measures, such as the possibility of taking the driver license another time, and different admission measures for men and women. The women admission in Police is 10%, too low compared to other regional countries”, Zajmi declared.

Police leaders think that the presence of women will not cause less efficiency, but will help the institution, especially for the communication with the public.

“Women could make a better job for the public relations. We aim to extend this plan throughout Albania”, declared the Police officer, Rasim Borishi.

This year, the admissions in the Police Academy will be only for women.
