Strong fires have once again engulfed the forested area of Krasta in Kruja, north of Tirana. From this morning the firefighters of Fushë-Kruja have faced the flames, extinguishing the new outbreaks.
The damage to the pine forest is considerable, while army forces from Burreli and Tirana arrived in the afternoon to help the firefighters.
Kruja MP Merita Bakiu, has asked the government to immediately intervene from the air to extinguish the fire, which is spreading more and more, burning areas of the green crown of Kruja.
“Krasta is the lung of Kruja and a national wealth of Albania, so it is necessary to intervene as soon as possible to protect it”, said Bakiu, referring to the help from outside due to the lack of aerial firefighting vehicles in Albania.
