Vangjel Dule from the United for Human Rights Party replaced the role of
the opposition on this Thursday’s Parliamentary session, and accused
Prime Minister Edi Rama of allowing Parliament Members with criminal
records.

Edi Rama replied and said that the harsh tones of Dule are related to other issues. Rama referred to the publishing of a Wikileaks cable about the maritime agreement between Albania and Greece.

“Greece is not responsible that they found a group of traitors in the Albanian government. Because that maritime agreement that was giving away Albanian territory, was treaso”, Rama said.

The cable showed how the US Embassy was reporting that Albania was under Greek pressure. They were being threatened that Greece would not sign the Association Stabilization Agreement with the EU if Albania didn’t obey to their conditions for the maritime border and the issue of the Greek soldier cemeteries.

The report has said that Greek had asked Albania to leave the other international powers outside of this issue, especially the USA. Albania signed the agreement with Greece, but was then rejected by the Constitutional Court.
