Did the US Ambassador cross a red line by meeting the three biggest
parliamentary groups? Ben Blushi was the only one among Socialists who
presented this concern. To respect this, apparently, he was absent in
the meeting.
Among the democrats there were voices similar to Blushi, but only two missed the meeting. One of them is Genc Ruli, although he said he would vote the reform.
“The Albanian Parties have many ways to express their will for the justice reform and there is no need for show with meetings with ambassadors”, Ruli said.
The other MP who didn’t come is SAli Berisha, who orients the decisions of Democrats for important matters. He chose to not be a witness and to be absent.
“The absence is normal, since he has already met with Ambassadors about the justice reform. Tis meeting was for the other DP Parliament Members”, said sources close to Berisha.
Ilir Meta of the SMI is also playing in absence. He is in attending a visit in Washington and did not witness the SMI Parliament Members taking their oath to vote the reform.
Jozefina Topalli chose to not break neither the meeting protocol, nor her loyalty image to Berisha. So, she left the meeting with the ambassadors before the meeting was postponed. “I have meetings with other ambassadors”, she said for the media.
However, Topalli did not leave without hearing the explanation of the US Ambassador regarding her critic.
“The red line will not be cross. By presence shows how important is this matter for us. WE don’t give orders. We are prepared to be constructive”, he said, which means that he is asking for a “yes” in favor of the justice reform. BUt do the Ambassadors have 94 votes for passing the Constitutional amends if the parties fail to find consensus?
By what Donald Lu said, it seems that yes; “This Monday there was a good sign after the DP voted in favor in principal. It is important for the reform to not pass only with the votes of the majority”, he declared.
