“Who touches elections will be held accountable”

The World Bank study which showed that 57% of the Albanian students are
functional illiterates, which was first published by Top Channel, was
commented in a press release by the Socialist Party leader, Edi Rama.

Rama declared that this is a dramatic fact that shows a catastrophic reality which is being denied by a government that blames the opposition, as usual, rather than apologizing.

The Socialist Party leader mentioned one of the agreement points with the Socialist Movement for Integration, which is related with the role of the next ministers, according to Rama.

“The Ministers will be elected through the Parliament Members, but when becoming Ministers they will not be Parliament Members anymore, so that the Parliament keeps doing its job. The legislative will be the legislative, and the executive will be the executive”, Rama declared.

As for the Central Election Commission, Rama declared that the Socialist Party will not withdraw from its stance about this institution, which is to reconstitute it, same as it has been suggested by the international partners.

“We will not deal with this issue at all. The Albanians are clear that the Central Election Commission is being controlled by the outgoing Prime Minister. He can be the Chairman and member of the Central Election Commission, but we will defeat him. Whoever touches this victory will be held accountable for his action”, Rama underlined.

As for the 11 political secretaries of the Red and Black Alliance, who left this party today, Rama declared:

“We welcome every patriot who left that party on behalf of a red and black flag, after discovering that the real destination was not the battle for rotation, but Sali Berisha’s power. What I saw in the negotiation process was a big evidence of a large manipulation of the public opinion”, Rama declared.
