Artur Mecollari, a marine expert of the Armed Forces, member of the delegation group, was accused of not being adequate to negotiate for Albania by the former Democratic Party leader, Sali Berisha.

Yesterday he was accused also by Xhemal Gjunkshi, former General Chief of the Armed Forces, now MP for the Democratic Party.

Gjunkshi said he knows wh Mecollari should not negotiate with Greece, due to his past on top of the military.

Gjunkshi also said that Ylber Dogjani, Commander of the Marine Forces is also aware of why Mecollari is not appropriate for this case since he has managed his file as former Commander of the Recruitment.

However, right after Top Channel broadcasted this on the news edition, the Minister of Defense contacted us by saying that it is not true that Dogjani has information since he has been appointed on that duty 10 months after Mecollari was removed.

Mecollari is currently First Rank Captain and General Inspection Director at the Ministry of Defense.

He graduated from the Vlora Marine Academy in 1989 and has attended three courses in the USA, including the College for Commanding Marine Forces.

He has also served as Marine International Right professor at the Marine Academy in Vlora.

He has also worked as High Councilor for managing Human Resources on the NATO operation in Kabul, Afghanistan.

He has been decorated for Special Services and the NATO medal called “Non Article 5”.

Mecollari has written a book about the Corfu incident and has the NATO Cosmic security certificate, which is the highest security level of the Alliance.
