What will the Albanian media be like in the complete digitalization era? How will news and other programs reach the public?
While the process is considered delayed in Albania, although it is one of the priorities of the government, the media community doesn’t seem to have enough knowledge on this evolution of the media. Journalism scholars and professors worked for one year on a scientific conference about this matter.
“Only by integrating the department in a wider scientific process that reaches even students, we have higher hopes to go forward and extend the research area to the new generations”, said the Dean of the History and Philology Faculty, Sezai Rrokaj.
Artan Fuga, professor of communication, said that this conference brought international experiences in Tirana, but focused on the case of Albania and its specifics.
“While when the bands and frequencies that will be used for the digitalization are still open, the current systems will be abandoned by audiences if they don’t pass to the new system”, Fuga declared.
What is happening with the audience and what must happen with digital transmissions?
“We have noted that the audience behaves for digital media even in the time of analogue media. They follow TV shows and movies not because analogue media find enough space for them, but because they tend to watch genres that do not specifically belong to the “broadcast” style. This year I noted that the audience has a behavior of tematic media in generalist media”, said Ervin Goci, Professor at the Journalism Faculty.
Media market studies were realized by a cooperation between the Department of Journalism at the Tirana University and the Audiovisual Media Agency.
The conclusion of this result will be published to help media operators and their professionals to continue with the studies.
