The Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, met today with the Deputy Assistant Secretary of state, Matthew Palmer.
Top Channel’s journalist, Muhamed Veliu, referring to a source present in the meeting, reports that the discussion between the officials lasted for about 100 minutes, but only a small amount of it was focused on the political situation in our country.
The same source said for Top Channel that the US official spoke about the significance that the EU accession negotiations have for the future of Albania with the EU, and about the strategic role that our country plays in the NATO.
Rama and Palmer also discussed about the dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia.
Although the political actuality in Albania didn’t take most of the attention, the US official has shown interest on the Electoral Reform. He reiterated the message already given by Washington and Brussels, that there is no reason to put in question the legitimacy of the Parliament and the government.
Palmer is meeting tomorrow with the Democratic Party leader, Lulzim Basha; the SMI leader, Kryemadhi; and President Meta.
