More than 200 people, lawyers or interested parties, have answered to a
poll made by the Court of Appeal abuot what they expect by their
administration.
“Most of the suggestions demanded better premises at the Court and more offices to serve the citizens. This is an obligation that puts me, as president of the court, in front of a difficult position. I have to communicate with the Budget Administration Office, with the personnel of the Court of Appeal, so that we can give a faster service to our citizens and not let them wait. Secondly, I think it is time for the Court of Appeal in Tirana, as one of the most important courts in the country, to have a new building. We will ask the government to fund a new building. A series of courts were funded by the Judiciary Budget Office, such as the Court of Serious Crimes, the Court of Vlore, Shkoder, Korca, but the most important Court has not been part of this plan”, declared Alaudin Malaj, President of the Court of Appeal.
What thiks the President of the Court for another suggestion made by citizens, for quicker procedures?
“We cannot pretend to make a Court of Appeal process in a very short time. Cases today end within 8 or 10 months. Sometimes they take more than one year. I think that a verdict of the Court of Appeal must come out at least for six months, in order to create trust”, Malaj says.
He appeals presidents of other courts to make other questionnaires like this with the public in order to understand their requests in a direct way.
